Black Hawk Down

Black Hawk Down directed by Ridley Scott

I gave this film: 5 / 10
Special DVD features:

  • Feature plus 3 Commentaries, including Director Ridley Scott and Producer Jerry Bruckheimer

Overview of this DVD: A lot of people swear by this film. It's alright, in my opinion. There are a couple of good bits. But, it's mainly quite boring. Maybe because it's not been over dramtised, but there's very little actually going on. Men ordered to raid some place by day instead of night. Men get shot to bits. Predictable. I know it's based on a true story, but it's a shame about the film. Here's the official word about the film:

From proclaimed director Ridley Scott and renownde producer Jerry Bruckheimer and based on actual events, Black Hawk Down is the heroic account of a group of elete U.S. soldiers sent into Mogadishu, Somalia in October 1993 as part of a U.N. peacekeeping operation. When their mission takes an unexpected turn it results in the U.S. militarie's single biggest firefight since Vietnam.

This double disc set not only brings you the Oscar-winning movie, but over 3.5 hours of spectacular extra features that are only available on the DVD.
